March 2025 Year-on-Year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province was 0.24 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Selatan Regency at 1.91 percent.

In March 2025, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in West Papua Province of 0.24 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.07. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Selatan Regency at 1.86 percent with a CPI of 110.10 and the lowest inflation occurred in Sorong City at 0.83 percent with a CPI of 103.68. 

Inflation y-on-y occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 0.69 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.77 percent; health group by 3.13 percent; transportation group by 1.94 percent; recreation, sports and culture group by 1.16 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 1.75 percent; and personal care and other services group by 1.85 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced a decrease in the index included clothing and footwear by 2.98 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel by 2.38 percent; information, communication, and financial services by 0.31 percent; and education by 0.02 percent.

In March 2025, the Province of West Papua experienced month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation of 1.11 percent and year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation of 1.21 percent.
