Abstract

In October 2024, there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province of 2.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.67. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Regency at 3.46 percent with a CPI of 103.98 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 2.25 percent with a CPI of 105.91.

Y-on-y inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by rising prices expenditure group index, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups by 3.40 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.47 percent; health group by 1.32 percent; group transportation by 2.82 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.67 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.29 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.25 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index included the clothing and footwear group by 0.54 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.23 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.01 percent; and the education group was 0.39 percent.

Papua Barat Daya Province in October 2024 experienced month to month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.15 percent and year to date (y-to-d) inflation of 2.02 percent.
