Abstract

In September 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Regency will be 3.46 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.98.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 9.40 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.12 percent; health group by 2.99 percent; Education group at 0.69 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.41 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 0.69 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 5.24 percent; transportation group by 1.25 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 0.18 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 0.17 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services groups did not experience changes.
Month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Sorong Regency in September 2024 by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Sorong Regency in September 2024 is 1.24 percent.
