Abstract

In July 2024, there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province of 1.77 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.23. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Selatan Regency at 3.93 percent with a CPI of 108.75 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 1.13 percent with a CPI of 105.16.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 3.24 percent; clothing and footwear group by 2.07 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.40 percent; health group by 1.81 percent; transportation group at 0.82 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.01 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.51 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.62 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.00 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were equipment, tools and routine household maintenance by 0.16 percent; and the education group was 2.43 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rates for Papua Barat Daya Province in July 2024 are 0.25 percent and 1.75 percent respectively.
