Abstract

In September 2024, there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province of 2.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.67. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Regency at 3.46 percent with a CPI of 103.98 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 2.25 percent with a CPI of 105.91.
Y-on-y inflation occurs due to an increase in prices as indicated by rising prices expenditure group index, namely: food, beverage and tobacco groups by 5.18 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.02 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 0.49 percent; health group by 1.50 percent; transportation group by 1.05 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.95 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.41 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.57 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were the housing, water, electricity and household fuel groups by 0.23 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.01 percent; and the education group was 0.39 percent.
Papua Barat Daya Province in September 2024 experienced month to month (m-to-m) inflation of 0.47 percent and year to date (y-to-d) inflation of 2.18 percent.
