Abstract

In May 2024, inflation will occur year on year (y-on-y) in Papua Barat Daya Province amounting to 1.87 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.67. Inflation The highest occurred in Sorong Regency at 4.12 percent with a CPI of 104.87 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 1.79 percent of the CPI amounting to 104.67.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.73 percent; clothing and footwear group at 2.58 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.41 percent; health group by 2.83 percent; transportation group at 3.28 percent; information, communication and financial services group at 0.04 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.54 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.65 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.75 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.17 percent and group education was 2.43 percent.
Inflation rate month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) Papua Barat Daya Province in May 2024 at 0.09 percent and 1.21 percent respectively.
