Abstract

In August 2024 there will be year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Sorong Regency amounting to 2.34 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.99

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 6.61 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.12 percent; health group by 2.14 percent; education group at 0.69 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.48 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 0.55 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 5.64 percent; transportation group at 0.92 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 1.12 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group; and recreation, sports and culture groups did not experience changes.

Month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Sorong Regency in August 2024 by 0.29 percent. Meanwhile, the district's year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate Sorong in August 2024 is 1.25 percent.
