Abstract

In May 2024, Sorong Regency have year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation of 4.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 104.87.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 10.03 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.39 percent; health group at 3.83 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.59 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.34 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: clothing and footwear group by 0.67 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 2.45 percent; transportation group at 0.31 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group at 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, recreation, sports and culture groups; and education groups did not experience changes.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Sorong Regency in May 2024 is 0.55 percent. Meanwhile, the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Sorong Regency in May 2024 amounting to 2.10 percent.
