Abstract

In March 2024, the year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Papua Barat Daya Province is 1.42 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103.82. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Selatan Regency at 3.85 percent with a CPI of 108.04 and the lowest occurred in Sorong City at 0.93 percent with a CPI of 103.49.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.54 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.19 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.27 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.17 percent; health group at 2.06 percent; transportation group by 5.00 percent; information, communication and financial services group of 0.02; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.13 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 2.65 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.04 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced a decline in the index was the education group by 2.43 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rates for Papua Barat Daya Province in March 2024 were 0.37 percent and 0.39 percent respectively.
