Economy of Papua Barat based on the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices in 2023 reached by IDR 97,675.84 billion and at 2010 constant prices reached IDR 64,964.02 billion.

Economy growth of Papua Barat in 2023 reached by 3.91 percent, higher than growth in 2022 which reached by 2.01 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth occurred in the Financial and Insurance Activities at 10.54 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by Component of Goods and Services Export at 28.13 percent. Papua Barat's economy in quarter IV-2023 compared to quarter IV-2022 experienced growth of 5.89 percent (y-on-y). In terms of production, the Financial and Insurance Activities experienced the highest growth of 14.51 percent. In terms of expenditure, the Component of Non-Profit Institutions that serve Households Consumption Expenditure (PK-LNPRT) experienced the highest growth of 13.74 percent. Papua Barat's economy in quarter IV-2023 compared to quarter III-2023 experienced growth of 3.19 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, Public Administration and Defence, Compulsory Social Security experienced the highest growth of 10.53 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth occurred in the Government Consumption Expenditure Component (PK-P) at 26.27 percent.
