The year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in January 2025 was 0.44 percent.

The year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in January 2025 was 0.44 percent with it’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.47.

Deflation occurred as the prices went down, as indicated by the decrease in four expenditure groups indices, namely: Clothing And Footwear Group of 0.02 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 13.88 percent; Health Group of 0.10 percent; and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that recorded a inflation were Food, Beverages and Tobacco Group of 3.43 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 1.05 percent; Transportation Group of 0.61 percent; Education Services Group of 4.54 percent; Food and Beverages Services/Restaurants Group of 2.03 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 3.21 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that did not experience changes in the index were Recreation, Sport and Culture Group.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in January are 2.29 percent each.
