The year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in May 2025 was 1.51 percent.

The year-on-year (y-on-y) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in May 2025 was 1.51 percent with it’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.60.

Deflation occurred as the prices went down, as indicated by the decrease in three expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages and Tobacco Group of 5.47 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 0.03 percent; and Transportation Group of 3.09 percent. Meanwhile, expenditure groups that recorded an inflation were: Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.53 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.43 percent; Health Group of 0.25 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.07 percent; Recreation, Sport and Culture Group of 2.44 percent; Education Services Group of 6.30 percent; Food and Beverages Services/Restaurants Group of 2.79 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 4.51 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate of Papua Barat Province in May 2025 were 0.33 percent and 1.24 percent.
