Consumer Price Index and Inflation of Papua Barat Province 2018

In determining policies in the regional economy, local governments need the right tools to realize policies that are right, effective, and efficient. In connection with this, the BPS of West Papua Province considers it necessary to publish the Consumer Price Index and West Papua Inflation in 2018 to meet the needs of data users and as a means of monitoring the prices of goods and services at the end consumer level.

Economic development through government policies demands the availability of accurate, fast, accurate and continuous statistical data in order to realize the quality of life of the people. In connection with that, the Central Papua Province Statistics Agency (BPS) considers it necessary to publish the Consumer Price Index and West Papua Inflation Year 2018 issued to meet the needs of data users and as one of the development indicators through monitoring the prices of goods and services at end consumer.

This publication contains aggregation of CPI data, consumer prices, monthly inflation, and point to point inflation for West Papua Province in 2018. The aggregation is formed from two SBH cities, namely Manokwari City and Sorong City, which are broken down by groups and the commodity expenditure sub-group is useful especially for decision makers, planners and evaluators, both at the level of institutions / agencies and individuals.
