Abstract

In March 2025, the year-on-year (y-o-y) deflation in Sorong Regency was 0.17 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 103,30.
The y-on-y deflation occurred due to price declines, as indicated by decreases in the index of expenditure groups, namely: the group of household goods and services, which decreased by 4.68 percent; the group of housing, water, electricity, and household fuels, which decreased by 4.11 percent; the health group, which decreased by 0.16 percent; the transportation group, which decreased by 0.10 percent; the clothing and footwear group, which decreased by 0.09 percent; and the information, communication, and financial services group, which decreased by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that saw an increase in their index were: the personal care and other services group, which increased by 1.19 percent; the food, beverages, and tobacco group, which increased by 1.07 percent; the food and beverage service/restaurants group, which increased by 0.89 percent; and the education group, which increased by 0.69 percent. The recreation, sports, and culture group showed no change.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Sorong Regency in March 2025 was 1.74 percent. Meanwhile, the year-to-date (y-to-d) deflation rate for Sorong Regency in March 2025 was 1.02 percent.
