Abstract

  • In January 2025, the year-on-year (y-o-y) deflation in Sorong Regency was 0.59 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 102.64.
  • This y-o-y deflation occurred due to price reductions, reflected in the decline of the index in the following expenditure groups: housing, water, electricity, and household fuels decreased by 16.63 percent; household equipment and routine maintenance decreased by 7.85 percent; personal care and other services decreased by 0.88 percent; health decreased by 0.54 percent; transportation decreased by 0.29 percent; clothing and footwear decreased by 0.27 percent; and information, communication, and financial services decreased by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced an increase in index were: food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 4.72 percent; provision of food and beverages/restaurants increased by 0.89 percent; and education increased by 0.69 percent. The recreation, sports, and culture group showed no change.
  • The month-to-month (m-o-m) deflation rate for Sorong Regency in January 2025 was 1.65 percent. Meanwhile, the year-to-date (y-t-d) deflation rate for Sorong Regency in January 2025 was 1.65 percent.
