Abstract

  • In March 2024, the expenditure inequality of Papua Barat represented by the Gini Ratio was 0,389
  • In March 2024, the gini ratio for urban regions was 0.283, while the gini ratio for rural areas was 0.426.
  • Based on the World Bank's measurement of inequality, the expenditure distribution of the bottom 40 percent of residents in Papua Barat was 17.84 percent. The categorization of inequality level in Papua Barat indicates a low level of inequality. In terms of urban and rural areas, the level of inequality in urban areas was low, as the total expenditure of the lowest 40 percent of the population was 23.54 percent. In contrast, the level of disparity in rural areas was moderate, as the lowest 40 percent of the society accounted for 16.63 percent of the total expenditure.
