The November 2023 Inflation Rate of Composite Consumer Price Index at Two CPI Cities in Papua Barat Province
The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of composite two CPI cities at Papua Barat Province in November 2023 was 2.93 percent. The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Manokwari was 3.12 percent, while in Sorong City was 2.87 percent.
The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate of composite two CPI cities at Papua Barat Province in November 2023 was 2,93 percent with it’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 115.27. All of 90 CPI cities were experiencing inflation. The highest inflation was seen in Tanjung Pandan at 5.89 percent with a CPI of 120,62, while the lowest was seen in Jayapura at 1.82 percent with a CPI of 112,99.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in most of the expenditure groups indices, namely: Transport Group of 4.90 percent; Food, Beverages and Tobacco Group of 4.80 percent; Recreation, Sport and Culture Group of 4.00 percent; Food and Beverages Services/Restaurants Group of 3.47 percent; Clothing And Footwear Group of 3.10 percent; Health Group 2.85 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 2.34 percent; Personal Care and Other Services Group of 1.49 percent; and Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.17 percent. On the other hand, expenditure groups that recorded a deflation were Education Services Group of -2.19 percent; and Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of -0,02 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) (November 2023 compared to October 2023) deflation rate in November 2023 was -0.47 percent, and the year-to-date (y-to-d) (November 2023 compared to December 2022) inflation in November 2023 was 2.50 percent.
